1986 Chevrolet K30

This beautiful 1986 K30, owned by Blayz Hendrickson, is truly a truck from humble beginnings. Blayz took the time to sit down with Squarebody Heritage and tell the remarkable story behind his build.
Where it came from
When Hendrickson was 17, he traded a 1990 K5 for this rust free 1986 K30. Everyone said he was crazy for trading his blazer for this truck, but he had a vision for this build. The truck was formerly a valley truck with 2 previous owners before Hendrickson traded for it.
The Build Begins
After 6 months of owning the vehicle, Blayz converted the K30 to a single wheel truck with a 12″ lift and 40s. He then swapped an 8.1L Vortec from a 2001 Chevy truck to give it a little more power. With this power came transmission problems but Hendrickson quickly took care of this by putting in a nv4500 transmission to link up the power of the big block with the 40″ tires.
The Second Rebuild
After sitting for a few years, Blayz knew it was time for another change. So with a band-saw, a welder, and a lot of measurements, Hendrickson started building a custom flatbed to accommodate the conversion of the truck back to a dually. He also stripped the entire truck down again and powder coated everything from the frame down with a satin black grey pearl. This would be the second time Blayz stripped the entire truck to rebuild it.
On the Road Again
Hendrickson’s latest modification includes using an LS ignition system to run the 8.1L Vortec. After some love was given to the paint, the truck was finally road worthy.
However, Blayz did not stop there. He wrapped the truck in a satin pearl white to make the truck stand out even more!
What Does the Future Hold?
His future plans include removing he vinyl floor; replacing it with carpet and re-upholstering the leather seat. Hendrickson also plans to Duramax swap the truck with a ZF6 transmission. He hopes to finish the truck by the summer of 2018 and attend the Adrenaline Auto Show in Nashville, TN.
